Thanks so much! There is now a brand new Department of Linguistics ! Previously a "program," Linguistics is now officially a department within the College of Arts & Sciences. Linguistics Department News Welcome -- or welcome back! Linguistics Degree Programs We offer Linguistics degree programs at the BA, MA, and PhD levels. You can view "undergraduate" vs. "graduate" information by selecting the appropriate button at the top of this page. If you have any questions about Linguistics at BU, don't hesitate to contact the Chair of Linguistics . We offer: a major and minor in Linguistics joint majors combining Linguistics with French , Italian , Japanese , Spanish , Philosophy , or -- NEW, starting in September 2019 , Computer Science an intercollegiate joint undergraduate major in Linguistics & Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences . an MA in Linguistics , a dual BA/MA dual degree in Linguistics , and a PhD in Linguistics . We are also delighted to announce two new Graduate Certificate Programs in Linguistics , which will launch in September of 2019. All of our undergraduate programs have corresponding Honors programs (see below ). They are also very "Hub-efficient," enabling students to fulfill many of the required Hub units. The deadline has now passed for September 2019 admission to the MA or PhD program. The application deadlines for admission the MA and PhD programs in September 2020 will be February 3, 2020 for the MA program and January 6, 2020 for the PhD program. The graduate application portal for next year will open in September of 2019. The next opportunities for undergraduates to apply for the BA/MA program will be November 30, 2019 (for admission in Spring 2020) or April 20, 2020 (for admission in Fall 2020).
